Welwyn St. Mary’s P.T.F.A. is a member of the National Confederation of  Parent Teacher Associations and is a registered charity, number 291463.

Its three main aims are to:

(1) develop more extended relationships between the staff, parents and others  associated with the school,

(2) engage in activities that support the school and advance the education of  the pupils attending the school,

(3) provide, and assist in the provision of, such facilities or items for  education at the school (not provided from statutory funds) as the committee in consultation with the Governing Body shall, from time to time, determine.

Officers of the P.T.F.A. committee may be contacted by telephone (numbers are listed in the PTFA  magazine or on the weekly newsletter), by mail c/o the school office or by  e-mail, click here.

PTFA  members

Everyone with an association to the school is deemed a PTFA member - parents,  guardians, carers, grandparents, staff, voluntary helpers, teachers, governors,  etc. All are welcome to attend the meetings and to help with organising and manning events. No need to feel guilty if you can’t spare much time as there are many ways that you can contribute.

Once each term, we ask members to bake a cake to sell at the Christmas Fair /  Easter Fair / Street Market. We often need raffle prizes and we also ask for items for the children’s tombola, chocolate tombola, crafts plus unwanted gifts for various stalls.

Alternatively, the PTFA has a Gift Aid scheme whereby you can donate money and we can top it up by reclaiming the income tax that you have paid on it.

If you do have some spare time occasionally and wonder what you  can do to help, we ask for volunteers on the weekly newsletter, which means  that we haven’t enough help and the sooner you can let us know that you are  available, the easier it is to push ahead with the tasks in hand. If you can  help on a regular basis but can’t get to evening committee meetings, contact a  PTFA officer with any suggestions, opinions or offers of help.

We keep a list of members who are happy to be contacted when help is  required. If you would like to ensure that your name is on this list, please  email committee@wsmptfa.org.uk and  tell us your particular interests.
